About the Artist
Jacqueline AllisonContemporary abstract artist Jacqueline Allison creates mixed media paintings, drawings and collage which interpret and reflect her personal viewpoint of place. This very intimate perspective encompasses a sense of place that can be defined physically, interpersonally or spiritually. Jacqueline finds inspiration in her travels, memories and dreams and puts traces of these elements into a layered surface which is intertwined with universal symbols holding a special significance to the artist.

Born in New Mexico and raised in Colorado and Tennessee, Jacqueline has made the Atlanta area home since 1986. The colors and light of the Southwest continue to influence her artwork and the use of symbols can also be traced to the Native American influence in the art and architecture of her childhood.

With group exhibitions across the United States, Jacqueline’s work has received regional and nationwide exposure. Jacqueline recently received a merit award in the internationally acclaimed Abstract Exposure Juried Competition and her work was accepted to the National Collage Society’s 25th Annual Juried Exhibition.

Jacqueline’s artwork has also been published in two specialty art books and her list of private and corporate collectors spans the United States. Jacqueline received her Bachelor of Science degree with concentration in Graphic Design and a Minor in Fine Arts from Middle Tennessee State University near Nashville and she has continued her studies with nationally recognized artists in the Atlanta area. Jacqueline is active in the arts community with memberships in a number of regional and national arts organizations.
